6 Hidden Waterfalls Near Ubud You Can Reach by Scooter

1. Tukad Cepung — the light-beam cathedral

±35 min ride · entry ±Rp 25K. The famous one for a reason: a waterfall inside a cave-like canyon where morning sunbeams cut through the mist. Arrive before 8:30am for the beams and the silence. The final walk involves wading — sandals over sneakers.

2. Tibumana — the postcard plunge

±25 min · ±Rp 15K. A single clean curtain of water into a calm green pool, framed by jungle. Swimmable, photogenic, and rarely busy on weekdays. The staircase down is gentle by Bali waterfall standards.

3. Kanto Lampo — the cascade you climb

±20 min · ±Rp 20K. Water fans out over tiered black rock — this is the one where everyone takes that photo sitting in the flow. Go at opening time; by 10am the photo line forms.

4. Goa Rang Reng — the sacred slide

±15 min · ±Rp 15K. Closest to Gianyar Town: a broad rock face where water slides rather than falls, plus a small cave shrine. Locals come to purify; visitors come to cool off. Respect both.

5. Suwat — the quiet one

±20 min · ±Rp 15K. A village-managed fall with a deep pool, bamboo rafts, and almost no marketing. If you want a waterfall nearly to yourself on a weekday, this is it.

6. Taman Sari — the bonus nobody knows

±25 min · donation. Small, lush, and usually empty — the kind of place you find only because a local drew a map on a napkin. Consider this your napkin.

Waterfall-day rules of the road

• Go early. Light is better, pools are cleaner, roads are cooler.
• Small bills for entry fees and parkir attendants (Rp 2–5K).
• Dry bag for phones; the spray finds everything.
